3day/3night sojourn
1st day
Meet you (maximum of 6 persons) in Nice. We can organize to pick you up at your hotel/B&B/camping ground/residence/airport.
On the 1st morning, after sharing some coffee and fresh croissants, Corinne will take you to a local market where she will show you how to select the best fruits and vegetables as well as the herbs and spices required for the cooking session in the afternoon. At lunch time, we will return home situated in a little village 30 minutes away from the crowded Riviera to enjoy a nice meal made from Nice’s specialties.
Together we will prepare a complete dinner, including the “petits fours” for the aperitif.
We will then get some rest and start enjoying the product of our efforts…Chatting, drinking good wine and eating this delicious meal will be the program for the evening.
2nd day
The smell of fresh French baguettes, coffee, croissants, “pains au chocolat”, together with home-made jams, cakes and fresh fruits will make you jump out of bed to get ready for the exciting day ahead.
After breakfast we will take you on a guided walking tour around our charming village. This is the place where Benoit, as a kid, used to rock climb, run or ride his mountain bike.
Here you will discover Saint Jeannet’s natural charms with its narrow and peaceful streets lined by centuries-old stone houses, together with its churches, boulangeries and outdoor cafés.
Meandering up the gently sloping streets will lead you toward the Baous – the famous limestone hills that dominate the village – and from the top, affords excellent views over the whole French Riviera.
Hiking tours can be tailored to various fitness abilities and pique-nique lunches will be supplied boasting the best of Provençale cuisine including fresh breads, pâte, hams, and cheeses.
Depending on our mood, we will keep walking to reach another spectacular point or relax in the middle of the wild bouquets of thyme and lavender before returning to the village and dinner prepared by Corinne.
3rd day
After breakfast, we will visit outlying villages typical of the area - off the tourist track. During the day, we will sample some of the local produce, enjoy a fantastic picnic lunch and stop for a coffee in a quaint French bar. There will be many opportunities to take in the spectacular scenery of several picturesque French villages – depending on the season, we could visit at an olive oil mill which is still used by the inhabitants of the area, or a local vineyard to sample the wine that has been produced by the same family for the last 100 years.
4th morning
We will share our last breakfast before going back to Nice around 9 am…we would be more than happy for you to extend your stay with us for another day or two and discover a bit more about our lovely region!
Winter Option (weather permitting)
This extra day will allow us to enjoy hiking in the snow-covered mountains with snow shoes in the surrounding mountains. If you have never experienced it this day's hike will give you the experience of a lifetime...culminating in a night spent in a lodge where we will enjoy specialties from the "Savoie" region including fondue, raclette or tartiflette depending on the mood of the cook...
